I'm Calling the US Patent Office

Okay, it's my turn to blog and, well, my idea pool is pretty dry. I had a glimmer of an idea earlier today but it vanished at about the time I reached the office (I wound up going into work this afternoon for 4 hours). Then, I went straight from the office to my RWA chapter meeting. Instead of coming home after the meeting, a friend and I decided to enjoy a glass of wine at TGI Fridays across the street. So, here I sit at midnight, not feeling much like writing my blog even if I had an idea.

What do I do? Check email and surf the Internet, naturally. And it's there I find inspiration. Have you seen the new Sarah Palin action figure doll? Now, I'm not talking politics here at the Gabwagon, so no worries (though I am cracking up over the idea of a politician action figure doll). But if you haven't seen the pictures of this doll, go look one up. The legs on it alone are worth the time and effort. I'd post it here but Monica would throw stones at me.

This got me to thinking, why are there no romance writer action figure dolls? Seriously, we're pretty amazing individuals, too. Super moms and them some. And if there were such a doll, what would it look like? The Sarah Palin doll comes with two outfits, a power suit and a Lara Croft type trench coat and mini skirt. Maybe a romance writer action figure doll (RWAFD for short) would have the PJ's/baggy sweats outfit for sitting at the computer writing, a smart casual outfit for conferences and meeting editors/agents, and a glittery evening gown for special occasions like accepting a Golden Heart or Rita award. She could have separate accessories, like a little AlphaSmart, a minirecorder, a Starbucks coffee, and teeny tiny research books that would fit in her hand.

I'm loving it. I wonder if Mattel will, too. Really, there's a viable market for a RWAFD. Don't you agree I'm onto something?

Darlink! I would NEVER throw stones at you for liking someone I don't like. We can agree to disagree on ANY issue and I'd still lubs you!! *grin*

I never got into Mattel dolls, not even Barbie. I was too busy being a Tom Boy! So I'm not sure I'd want one. Although Lisa Kleypas or Anna Stefano (http://tiny.pl/8dbp)would serve as BEEOUUTIFUL Romance dolls!

As for the clothes that come with the doll, well, I've never been much of a fan of power suits. Between that collar Nancy Pelosi wore at the DNC and the one Palin wore at RNC, I think they BOTH need to talk to Carson Kreseley. LOL

Cathy, you cracked me up! I'd want one just for the itty bitty accessories! LOL

I wouldn't waste my money on things like these. Yet I did buy all the Disney bobble-heads. *g* I love 'em. I use them as bookends in my library.
